One of my first jobs out of college was at an ad agency in San Francisco working on an outdoor campaign for the San Francisco Chronicle, which went on to win a Gold Effie award and was featured in Communication Arts magazine for Best Outdoor Board Series.
One day, walking to work in the sunny-yet-somehow-still-freezing San Francisco weather, I spied my work in the wild for the first time as it drove past on a city bus. I chased after it, arm raised, hot chai tea sloshing everywhere, to get this pic. Is this a great pic? No. But that feeling, of seeing a great idea make it all the way from my brain, to my notebook, to out into the world, is what's kept me in this game.
Through the years, I've made many clients happy writing about what's new, what's what, and this, that, and the other thing. I've been lucky to have worked for the big Fortune 500 companies everyone knows and some smaller companies people may wish they knew. Having worked extensively on both the agency side AND the brand side gives me a unique perspective. I know exactly how to walk the line between wildly untethered creativity and effective brand strategy. When I'm not writing, I'm daydreaming about surfing, attempting something recognizable on the ukulele (aargh!), or entertaining my giant, happy puppy and perpetually aloof cat.
One of the best ways to get my attention is to offer me money. Let's get connected—and MAKE IT SNAPPY!
