Out of the blue, I got one of those "Wait, is this a prank?" kind of calls asking if I wanted to work on the adidas account for the upcoming French Open. Umm, YES, obviously. The first spot I wrote for the French Open was so well received, it evolved into writing spots for Wimbledon, the U.S. Open, and the Australian Open, eventually becoming an ongoing, more than decade-long partnership with adidas' agency of record.
For the U.S. Open, we created a crowd-sourced campaign. Tennis champion Novak Djokovic stepped in as the "director," encouraging fans to follow his stage cues on Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter for their chance to star in the final adidas film.
